Building Local Communities Across Australia

The Swiss Australian Academic Network (SAAN) is entering a new phase of growth. As part of its renewed governance framework and expanded mission, SAAN is establishing State Chapters across Australia to strengthen connections among Swiss researchers, academics, innovators, students, and professionals.

Our State Chapters provide a local platform for members to engage with the Swiss-Australian academic and innovation community, while contributing to a strong national network. They foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, mentoring, and professional networking at the local level, while remaining connected to SAAN’s broader national vision.

Each Chapter is led by volunteer members who coordinate activities tailored to the interests and opportunities of their region. These may include networking events, lectures, industry visits, career discussions, collaborations with universities and research organisations, and engagement with the Swiss innovation ecosystem.

Together, the Chapters create a vibrant community that spans Australia’s leading research, innovation, and industry hubs, providing opportunities for engagement from Perth to Brisbane, Melbourne to Sydney, and beyond.
